I had my first experience with Dr.Stellos Tavantzis the other day. I awoke at 6:00 a.m. and meet Stellos and his team next to Nutting hall at the greenhouse. We loaded up and drove two and a half hours north to the University research farm at Mars Hill. It was a strenuous day of work. My arthritis was inflamed fairly at the end of it. We left UMO at 7 and did not get back till 6 in the after noon. Despite the hard work it was a rewarding experience. We set up an entire research project, learned about the process of the experiment and its goals, got to know each other a little bit and got some sun. One thing that struck me about the group was a concern about intelligence. I guess because it is academia intelligence is valued above all else and I sensed some insecurity in some of the students. Some of them seemed worried if they were smart. Over all everyone seemed pleasant, intelligent, health conscious, motivated and professional. I am working with a good group of people.
